Polished Granite Slab: Antico Bianco
It’s a great stone with loads of character – thinking about using this in your kitchen? Its overall appearance is not uniform at all and the large grey / brown mineral deposits that are scattered all over the stone are easily visible.
They are usually a light bronze color and can be slightly metallic. These brown mineral deposits are one of the reasons that this awesome granite is so popular and they can make up to 20% / 30% of the stones overall mass.
Very light grey patches are also littered around the stone. These are very subtle and are not immediately noticeable in most cases. They add an extra layer of depth to the pure white bedrock that is not too overpowering – ensuring the clean and fresh appearance is not disturbed. See how the contrast against the dark cabinets is not too strong? Little black mineral deposits are also infrequently dotted around the stone, they are not very common and most slabs will only have a handful of them. The main thing that will differ is the frequency and size of the brown mineral deposits.
Some slabs can have a huge amount of dense and frequent mineral deposits – others can be very sparse. These two extreme ends of the spectrum can look very different from one another, so it is very important that you take a look at your slab before you commit to buying it.

Bianco Antico is a beautiful and elegant white granite that is quarried in Brazil. This beautiful natural stone is recognized as …
This is a very durable granite and is not prone to staining, with proper care it can remain looking stunning for many years.
It works incredibly well with the ceramic basin and the black cabinets.
I love the bianco antico backsplash on this one. Due to its naturally neutral color scheme, this granite can work well in both light and dark types of kitchen décor. The overall grey appearance provides a nice little tonal contrast to the light cabinets – creating interest and depth without a stark contrast. The feel of the room will be incredibly flowing and elegant and it is possible to utilize this granite in both contemporary and traditional types of décor with ease. In the bathroom – what an awesome combination. With a medium stain or natural wood cabinets this granite works wonders.
There is not much of a contrast and the brown mineral deposits will probably be a similar shade of brown to your cabinets.
The contrast is obviously very strong between the white granite and the cabinets.
However thanks to the stunning brown minerals the countertops feel like they tie in with the room and do not look too stark. I cant figure out what i like more – the white sink, or the silver faucets.
We recommend that you do not use this granite in rooms with other strong patterns.
Things like busy floor tiles, or patterned wallpaper can compete with the intricate details of granite and to room can look a little too “busy”. This awesome stone however is not just limited to the kitchen! The white bedrock will complement a white ceramic sink beautifully, and its stunning patterns will look great in a mirror! We personally think that this is a stunning stone that is well priced considering its beauty, and would recommend it to any of our readers.
The background color of this material is primarily white and gray, with burgundy and taupe visible in the areas of movement. The clear quartz crystals throughout add depth to the look of this granite. During the polishing process, an epoxy resin is applied to the surface of the stone to fill in any natural pits, cracks or fissures that may exist. This does not affect the durability, maintenance or beauty of the stone. It is possible for some of the more minute pits that are too small to effectively hold the resin, to reopen during other finishing stages.
However, this will not detract from the overall quality or appearance of the stone. Due to the qualities of the stone, the slabs are book-matched; meaning slab one and slab two will be cut and polished to create a mirror image of each other.
These are then kept in sequence, which allows for a consistent flow in pattern. As a natural stone product, it is recommended that it be sealed to extend its longevity. In addition to countertops, this beautiful granite can be used for coordinating backsplashes, accent walls, and floors.
Granite is recommended for both residential and commercial projects, and can be used in exterior projects for wall cladding, landscaping, and countertops.
